A paper jam can interrupt printing, but it is usually easy to fix by following a few careful steps.
Step 1: Turn off the printer
Switch off the printer and unplug it if needed. This helps prevent damage and keeps you safe while clearing the jam.
Step 2: Open the printer covers
Open the front, back, or top panels to locate where the paper is stuck.
Step 3: Remove the jammed paper
Gently pull the paper out in the direction of the paper path. Avoid tearing it, and remove any small pieces left inside.
Step 4: Check the paper tray
Make sure the paper is loaded correctly and not overfilled. Adjust the guides so the paper sits properly.
Step 5: Close and restart the printer
Close all covers, plug the printer back in, and turn it on. Try printing again to confirm the issue is resolved.
